Santé of North Scottsdale Celebrates National Nurses Week
Each year, hospitals, healthcare systems and the like celebrate National Nurses Week from May 6-12. At Santé of North Scottsdale, our team went all out to celebrate our nurses with six days of themed events aimed at helping them to have fun, enjoy themselves and indulge in a well-deserved daily break!
Day 1 – Black and White Day
The first day of celebrations kicked off with a black and white affair, complete with a plethora of tasty themed snacks like Oreos, Swiss rolls, pinwheels and more to keep our staff hunger-free and satisfied. A piano concert from De Anna Mireau was the highlight of the day, providing our nurses with the ability to connect with music as a way to relieve stress and revive their senses.
Day 2 – Decades Day Karaoke Celebration
Day two of our Nurse’s Week celebration welcomed staff dressed in attire from their favorite decade, while feasting on a hearty lunch of barbequed chicken, rice, broccoli and pineapple upside down cake for dessert. The bravest members of our team treated their coworkers to rousing renditions of their favorite songs during a lunchtime karaoke contest, including Charge Nurse Jo Jo Capistrano and Assistant Director of Nursing Nicole Barzone who sang “We are Family.”
Day 3 – Hawaiian Day
The celebration continued into day three, aiming to transport our nurses to the most tropical of destinations with a Hawaiian luau. Even Jackson, our facility therapy dog got in on the action!
Day 4 – Wild, Wild West
Our nurses and staff galloped into day four and had a rootin’, tootin’ good time dressed in their Wild West best at our cowboy barbeque!
Day 5 – Jersey Day
Day five at Santé of Scottsdale welcomed some fierce, fun competition and all things sports! Our nurses donned their favorite team jerseys and played corn hole, basketball and miniature golf, followed by a buffet of stadium-style food including hotdogs, wings and popcorn.
Day 6 – Safari Day
To wrap up our fun and fabulous week of giving our nurses the extra love they deserve, our staff geared up for a wild safari adventure. Decked out in their adventurous best and still full from a day of stadium-themed treats the day before, our team delighted in a nutritiously light and refreshing “Lucky Monkey” fruit bar.
We truly can’t thank our nurses enough for their kind hearts and the amazing work they do each and every day. It takes a special kind of person to so selflessly care for others and we celebrate them not only during Nurses Week, but all year round!
