Virtual Visitation Encouraged During COVID-19 Restrictions

During these stressful times and the ongoing news of COVID-19, Santé is committed to every precaution as our greatest concern is the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff.  We also understand that families need to be able to check in and make sure your loved ones are doing ok.

The President of the United States declared a State of Emergency on March 13, 2020, as part of a national effort to escalate our ability to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In response, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), based on the newest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), issued new guidance directing nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities to significantly restrict visitors and nonessential personnel as well as restrict communal activities inside our facilities. All individuals other than essential health care staff and visits for end-of-life situations can no longer enter Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) until further notice.

As a skilled nursing facility, we understand these new measures are difficult when you cannot see your loved one face-to-face. We also agree that these measures being implemented by State and Federal governments, under the recommendations of the CDC and CMS, will help prevent contact with symptomatic or unsuspecting carriers as our patients are at the greatest risk of serious medical complications from an exposure to COVID-19. These measures are necessary to protect your loved ones as one of the best preventive measures for the spread of the virus.

Our Santé guest rooms are equipped with individual phones with individual contact numbers. To reach your loved one who is located in one of our skilled nursing facilities, please call the number for the appropriate location below and we can transfer your call, and also provide you the direct number to your loved one’s room so you can maintain frequent contact.

• Santé of Chandler – (480) 361-6636
• Santé of Mesa – (480) 699-9624
• Santé of North Scottsdale – (480) 630-3749
• Santé of Surprise – (623) 594-5050

We are also encouraging family members to check in with Santé guests on their personal phones or virtually via FaceTime on devices and social apps.  A reassuring voice and a warm conversation can help us all share a little good news and a welcome recovery update while these restrictions are in place.  To continue healing during these times of social and physical distancing, we could all use a little a social unity, too.
