How long will I be at Santé?

Many factors affect the duration of your rehabilitation stay including your physical condition prior to becoming ill or having surgery. If you were free from prior medical conditions, our goal is to assist you back to your former state of health and well-being. Sometimes preexisting medical conditions may prolong your recovery. The Santé Therapy team will help identify those conditions and create a plan to move your recovery along in consideration of any limitations.

I have an upcoming surgery; how do I plan ahead for admission to Santé?

Please call us to schedule a tour and learn more about how we can help you rehabilitate, recharge and recommit to living your best life. Let your physician and hospital discharge planner know that you have preselected Santé for your inpatient rehabilitation needs.

What should I bring with me during my stay at Santé?

Please bring comfortable clothing such as shorts, t-shirts, blouses, or sweatpants and comfortable shoes. Remember, you will be working hard in therapy, so please avoid clothing that is difficult to move in. We provide housekeeping and linen services daily to ensure that your suite remains clean. We will provide all linens, towels, care products, and laundering services. For your pleasure and convenience, your suite is equipped with a microwave, sink, and refrigerator. You are welcome to bring your favorite items from home to have available in your suite.

Who will be providing my care?

During your stay, you will be assigned an independent physician that will oversee your care while at Santé. Based on your medical condition, they will see you typically 1 to 2 days per week. Your Santé Interdisciplinary Team may include physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists as well as physicians, specialty-trained nurses, our Director of Rehabilitation, your personal Care Manager, and our Life Enrichment Coordinator. We also strongly encourage your family to participate in your rehabilitation program.

How often will I have therapy?

During the first 24 hours at Santé, you will have an evaluation for Physical, Occupational and possibly Speech therapy. This evaluation will determine your baseline for therapy and provide you a plan for your rehabilitation.

How will my medications be managed?

Our nursing team will be handling all your medications. Make sure to alert the clinical team if you have any prescription drugs or over-the-counter medicines with you. It is important to notify our clinical team if you are experiencing pain. Your physician at Santé may change medications based on your current medical condition. We contract with a licensed pharmacy to fill your prescriptions. We have medications on site so that you may start new medication orders that you receive prior to the pharmacy filling and delivering your medications.

What are my dining options?

As our guest, you have two complimentary dining options. Our restaurant is open from 7am-7pm and offers many delicious menu options. The bistro features wonderful breakfast, lunch, snack and dessert selections. For friends and family, there is a small charge to dine.

Can my friends and family visit?

Your friends and family are welcome to visit you. Many especially enjoy coming to dine with our guests and often rave about the delicious meals. A sofa sleeper is available in your private room if a visitor wishes to stay overnight with you.

NOTE: During the COVID-19 pandemic Sante is currently following the National Emergency Declaration guidance temporarily restricting all visitors other than essential health care professionals to skilled nursing facilities. We will follow the Arizona Department of Health guidance for reopening when recommended with appropriate safety protocols. In the meantime, we are connecting patients with their loved ones remotely using technology with virtual visits and window visits. Please contact us for alternate ways of keeping in touch with your loved one while they are rehabilitating safely at Santé.

Who will help me coordinate my care and discharge?

Your Care Manager will help you achieve success in the Santé Rehabilitative Program. He or she will provide guidance at your time of admission and throughout your stay at Santé. Your Care Manager will coordinate your care with your physician, therapists, and clinical associates, and will plan your discharge back to your home. Communication with both your referring physician and your Care Manager is important to us. We want your primary care providers to know that we have been able to achieve the success they envisioned for you.

Will I be taken to my appointments?

Our concierge service is available daily to assist you and your family members as our guests. Concierge services include arranging transportation, answering general inquiries, providing for special requests, providing computer access, and providing a list of local hotels, restaurants, and maps. Just ask and our Concierge will assist you.

We will set up Santé transportation based on the recommendation of your physician or of the hospital you discharged from. Any appointments scheduled during your stay should be related to the reason you were admitted to Santé, such as your orthopedic surgeon for a hip replacement. Appointments with primary care physicians, dermatology, podiatry, dental, cardiology, etc. not related to your stay, will not typically be made.
